Brighten Up their Day scheme inmate rules

The following are rules that BTG send out to inmates along with their application form:-

The Brighten Up their Day scheme was started exclusively to do just as the title says, to Brighten up the Day of an inmate.

Being in prison sadly one day is the same as any other day. The only exception is the weekend, but they can be just as boring as the week days.

On the outside there are a number of things that can take our mind of things, such as Birthdays, anniversaries and different faiths have different special days to celebrate.

So Bridging the Gap decided that they would do something to help Brighten up the Day of inmates in prison.

We have a number of volunteers on the outside who will send in to you a card for that special day.

One important thing that you MUST remember is that this is NOT a penpal scheme, nor is it a dating scheme, and when you fill in the application form, you are not allowed to specify a gender for the volunteer who is sending in your card.

They will put their name on the outside and should put our address; this is required by the Ministry of Justice rules.

Thank you.
