On the conference trail Despite the long delay without an update (apologies to all our visitors) BTG has been represented at the various Caring for Ex-Offenders conferences all over the country. Here is a brief list of where we have been on our travels and some photographic evidence! On Friday 7th February, James took the long journey by car to Belfast for the Belfast "Caring for ex-offenders Conference" on the 8th. First he had to go to Liverpool to catch the overnight ferry to Belfast. Saturday morning, as soon as the ferry docked, James the drove to the conference venue in Belfast. Who would have believed that he would be rubbing shoulders with former IRA members! Names or pictures not shown to protect them. Saturday 15th March found both James and Albert in Durham for the Durham Caring for Ex-offenders conference there. Fortunately this time James was able to rely on Albert to do a lot of the driving, having stopped off at his house on the way up. Saturday 17 May 2003 found James at the Solihull Caring for Ex-offenders Conference, flying the flag for BTG. The conference took place at Knowle Parish Church Hall. The day was very interesting and James met a number of friends of BTG and made some new contacts. |
